ABOUT THE CLASS:

The goal of this class is to impart useful tools and bits of craft, in order to instill a creative and spontaneous way of working as an actor on set, in auditions, and in rehearsals. We also hope to prepare students for the emotional challenges and pressures of this business. The class is small in order to give individual attention to each participant. For many years we have worked with collective groups of colleagues on various projects to great results, and are now bringing that winning formula to this collective that we will guide and nurture.

CLASS FORMAT:

Classes will be 3 hours, please plan to be there for the entire class as a way to support your colleagues. The primary focus will be on scene work and craft, we'll also touch on topics pertaining to the business of acting - i.e. marketing, materials, auditioning in the time of Corona, getting an agent, etc.

As a BONUS, we will also be offering two optional 90-minute sessions during the month called "office hours". During these sessions, we'll spend additional time discussing business-related topics & answering any questions you may have pertaining to the "Biz".

I co-teach this class with my husband, Martín Solá who is a fabulous actor, singer & voice teacher.

Martín has studied acting with some of the best teachers on the planet including Carol Rosenfeld (HB Studios), Freddy Kareman (Carnegie Hall). We both worked for many years with our mentor and teacher Charles Tuthill (NYU, SUNY, Atlantic Theater, Actor’s Center) until his untimely passing a few years ago. We have had the good fortune to work with Rob McCaskill over the past year. Martín has received the guidance, mentorship, and friendship of James Saito for the past 25 years. I have studied at The Barrow Group and taken on-camera technique classes with Tim Phillips, Ted Sluberski, Heidi Marshall, and Marci Phillips among others. I have devoted time to classes and workshops with many of the top casting agents in the business.

These teachers and influences have been instrumental in our development as actors and in the shaping of our careers.

We would now like to share this knowledge and experience with you.
